Design Flow Tables (033-DP-2)

Discussion Paper Summary

The CRD has developed a series of preliminary design flow tables to aid in planning for wastewater treatment facilities. These tables will help determine the best locations and conveyance of wastewater technologies.

The design flow calculations are presented in three formats:

  • Average annual flow summary
  • Design flow maps
  • Design flow tables

The information in the tables presents a base case scenario, a series of “what if” situations that can be tested, allowing the CRD to find the best solution for the Core Area. Scenarios include:

  • Predictions from the present day until the year 2065, in increasing increments
  • Wet weather return predictions for the next 100 years
  • Collection system topology

Estimates were also done on future water conservation efforts and how rates of flow might be affected. As ongoing monitoring takes place, these estimates will be adjusted.

Also included in the design flow tables is a summary map and average annual flow by municipality.
