The West Shore communities of Colwood and Langford are both part of the CRD Core Area municipalities. These communities will see the construction of a wastewater treatment plant as part of a larger Core Area system over the next several years.

 

February 2010 West Shore Consultation Report

On January 26th and 28th 2010, CRD held two siting open houses in Langford and Colwood. The open houses provided an update on the wastewater treatment project, opportunity for West Shore residents to discuss the Program with staff and local representatives and give feedback via comment forms. January 2010 West Shore Public Open Houses

The CRD held two open houses in the West Shore. Residents were given an opportunity to learn about the proposed treatment plant at 3300 Wishart Rd, talk with staff and engineers and give feedback on the proposed site.

A decision on West Shore Siting is expected by April 2010.

A New West Shore Sub Committee

In November 2009 a new committee for planning wastewater treatment was formed to aid siting decisions on the West shore. The West Shore Sub Committee (WSSC) will advise the Core Area Liquid Waste Management Committee (CALWMC), guiding the planning and construction of a West Shore wastewater treatment plant.

WSSC will also advise CALWMC on options relating to the future governance of the West Shore communities wastewater treatment options.

West Shore Wastewater Treatment Siting

The committee has identified a potential site for a wastewater treatment plant at 3300 Wishart Road, a property which includes the Colwood City Hall and the Public Works yard. Public consultation on the site is planned for late January; please check back for dates.
